About Our Site

Our Canberra Office is located in the leafy suburb of Deakin, approximately 4km’s from the Canberra CBD and approximately 12 km’s from the Airport. With approximately 180 employees, our Deakin site is primarily home to our Secure Communications and Information Systems business. The office is located in the Equinox Business Park which provides a mix of retail accommodation including a cafe, bakery and gym. Free onsite and underground parking is also available to employees.

In Australia, Thales’s Cyber Security and Intelligence business has been delivering unique capability to both Commonwealth and commercial customers. The Intelligence Analyst will work as a part of a team to assist with collection, collation, analysis and assessment of information and intelligence at all stages of the intelligence cycle. The Analyst will help to process internal and external customer requirements, assess reporting requests, prepare reports, presentations and other intelligence products.

Key Accountabilities
The Intelligence Analyst will support a wide range of customers and partners, and work to fill knowledge and capability gaps to provide clients with quality reporting product and services.

The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for:                                                                                                     

  • Collecting and analysing open source information and intelligence in response to customer requests.
  • Assisting with the generation of high-quality intelligence reporting product on a daily basis.
  • Supporting key customer stakeholders to ensure that all requirements for intelligence customers are met.
  • Using specialised analytic software and intelligence techniques to deliver actionable intelligence with short notice.
  • Supporting other Thales Intelligence businesses globally to transfer expertise in open source intelligence and data analytics.
  • Assisting the Program Director to identify new business opportunities, leveraging off a network of contacts in national security.

Your skills and experience

  • Two or more years’ experience as an analyst or reporter in a national security or Intelligence Community agency (Five-Eyes/NATO equivalent), or a similar research or analytical background.
  • A knowledge of open source intelligence collection and analysis techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.

Special requirements

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be Australian citizen and eligible for NV1 security clearance.
