DevOps Engineer with OpenStack - Transportation Business

Short task description

Participate in the transformation project by monitoring and updating HW components, Cloud Foundry and OpenStack layer. Administrate private clouds for development and integration including patch management and user support. Increase automation level of deployment activities. This also includes management of new services and Thales GDP application updates.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Private Cloud administration (including patch management) and monitoring
  • User support and coaching of developers and testers
  • Automation of processes like deployment, update and orchestration
  • Support workshops with product lines
  • Automate build and deploy processes for CI/CD
  • Documentation of functionalities and work results

The development will be performed in a professional environment in close co-operation with experts from Germany (Stuttgart, Berlin) and Austria (Wien).

We are looking for an outstanding applicant who can demonstrate the following qualities:

Professional competencies
Education:

  • Technical study of Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Electronics or similar)

    Requested technical competencies:

    • Advanced Experiences with Linux command line, Packaging and file systems
    • Experiences in Linux, OpenStack, Ceph and CloudFoundry/Kubernetes
    • Knowledge of Change Management
    • Experience in software provisioning and automation using Ansible, Docker and Jenkins
    • Experience with agile development methods (Scrum)

    Would be a plus:

    • Networking experience
    • Experience with software build systems (GNU Makefile, Maven or Gradle)
    • Experience with version control tools
    • Knowledge of Jenkins Pipeline and Groovy
    • Basic knowledge of Terraform, Puppet or Chef

      • Willingness to travel
      • Solution oriented while being open to embrace new technologies
      • Very good cognitive aptitudes
      • Interpersonal qualities (sociability, empathy, flexibility)

        Languages:

        • English – business fluent
        • German is a plus
